Suez has plans to launch a squeeze-out on Electrabel shares
London (Platts)--5Mar2007
Franco-Belgian power, gas and energy services group Suez said Monday it
had informed the Belgium stock exchange authorities (CBFA) of its intention to
ask its board on March 7 for the authorization to launch a squeeze-out on its
subsidiary Electrabel's shares that the group does not directly or indirectly
hold, or 1.38 % of the capital.
If the board of directors decides to go ahead with the squeeze out, the
terms will be made public on March 8 before stock exchange opening.
This transaction is in line with the "continuing strategy of streamlining
group structures," Suez said in a statement.
The CBFA has asked Euronext to suspend the quotation of Electrabel shares
until March 8.
