BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., March 10, 2005 - Spark Networks plc, a leading provider of online personals services, today reported 2004 fourth quarter and full year financial results.

Financial Results Revenue for the fourth quarter of 2004 was $17.1 million, an increase of 46%, compared to $11.7 million, over the same period last year. Revenue for the year ended December 31, 2004 was $65.1 million, an increase of 76%, compared to revenue of $36.9 million, for the year ended December 31, 2003.

Including $2.1 million of charges related to the settlement of two legal issues, the company reported a net loss of $1.6 million, or $(0.06) per share, for the fourth quarter of 2004, compared to a net loss of $6.8 million, or $(0.35) per share, for the same period last year.

For the year ended December 31, 2004, the company reported a net loss of $11.6 million, or $(0.51) per share, compared to a net loss of $10.9 million, or $(0.57) per share, for the year ended December 31, 2003. The loss for 2004 included charges totaling $7.7 million. These charges were related to costs associated with settlements of legal disputes, costs related to an impairment charge, costs related to severance payments and costs related to the postponed initial public offering of MatchNet.

Registration statement for IPO filed Spark Networks has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a proposed public offering of up to $75,000,000 in American Depositary shares, with each American Depositary share representing one of the company's ordinary shares. It is anticipated that the offering will be made by the company and certain selling shareholders. Piper Jaffray & Co. is serving as the lead manager and sole book-runner for the offering, and Thomas Weisel Partners LLC and ThinkEquity Partners LLC are acting as co-managers.
