The IFA is the oldest and largest organization representing franchising worldwide. The Epoxy team attended the conference for two critical reasons: 1) to gain exposure among the tight-knit community of franchisors and franchise suppliers, and 2) to get an accurate reference point of where Epoxy stands among its supplier competitors.

As for where the company stands with regard to technology, Gasparine and team observed Epoxy is in the leader position. "Other businesses are playing a game of catch-up," said Gasparine. "They're just now starting to incorporate components Epoxy has been offering from the very beginning."
One major difference is the simplicity factor – both on the customer side and the business owner side. The competition still requires customers to have cards or something to carry. With Epoxy, all that's needed is a customer's smartphone.

Changes in Epoxy's promotional strategies and aesthetics were already in progress, but after seeing what else is out there presentation-wise, it confirmed the investment would be worthwhile.
