Would Astra Zeneca/Shire buy Ariad?
.
Yes. Would Dr. Berger sell it? It depends on the offered price. I do not think Dr. Berger would sell Ariad at any prices below my 1st target price $48.50. The poison pills were placed in when ARIA was at $20+ in 2000.
I invited 6 Ariad employees to a BBQ party in 1999. At that time, Ariad had 0 cancer drugs and its financial statements looked terrible. Its market capital was below (30m?). At the BBQ party, a scientist (he is still at Ariad now) complaining Dr. Berger's rejecting an offer of 200m from Amgen. Dr. Berger asked for 800m when the TitleFakes then were bashing that Ariad (Market Cap only 30m?) would go out of business!
I am confident on Ariad because of the CEO's confidence on his company. Dr. Berger is holding 2m shares. He did not sell a single share even at $48.50. Dr. Berger is greedy. So am I.
"Own what you know", says Peter Lynch. I know Ariad and love gold, which is why I buy, hold and fall in love with the bags for gold. Fidelity also knows Ariad.
"Buying and holding the bags for gold" works greatly for a bag holder (I got the SINA bags at $2 and BIDU bags at $6):

I posted the above on 08/25/2011. This was the original version of my BBQ story, which caused a long-lasting war on this Ariad Message Board unfortunately.
I swear to God that my BBQ story is true although I am not intending to make people believe it. It does not matter whether people believe it or not. I know grandma_of_jbraika in person, but we do not have an affair. I have never been on top of her. The virus on this board must have judged us based on his own family's lowlife sexual behaviors. They get on top of each other as long as they know each other.
