Nov. 22, 2002--IBM's share of worldwide server revenue grew 2.1 points in the third quarter of 2002 compared with the third quarter of 2001 -- the largest revenue share gain of any vendor, according to the just-released Gartner Dataquest Worldwide server quarterly statistics.
In addition, IBM's share of worldwide UNIX revenue rose 3.8 points in the third quarter of 2002 from the same quarter a year ago, while all other major vendors lost share.
IBM also was the fastest growing major vendor in Intel-based servers with a revenue market share gain of 3.7 points in the third quarter of 2002 compared to the same quarter of a year ago.
