Stocks to Watch (Earnings today)

A host of biotech and pharmaceutical companies are scheduled to report their quarterly results Thursday. Among them, American Home Products (AHP: news, chart, profile) which is expected to report a profit of 62 cents a share, according to a consensus of analysts polled by Thomson Financial/First Call.

Also reporting in Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMY: news, chart, profile), which is expected to report earnings of 59 cents a share.

Schering-Plough (SGP: news, chart, profile) is pegged for a profit of 36 cents a share.

Data storage firm EMC (EMC: news, chart, profile) is expected to show a loss of 7 cents a share.

McDonald's (MCD: news, chart, profile) is expected to report earnings of 34 cents a share.

Nokia (NOK: news, chart, profile) is expected to show a profit of 18 cents a share.

After the closing bell, BMC Software (BMC: news, chart, profile) is expected to report earnings of 7 cents a share.

Gateway (GTW: news, chart, profile) is pegged to report earnings of a penny a share.

Starbucks (SBUX: news, chart, profile) is pegged to show earnings of 15 cents a share.

Qualcomm (QCOM: news, chart, profile) is expected to report a profit of 23 cents a share.

Verisign (VRSN: news, chart, profile) is expected to show earnings of 16 cents a share.
