PARIS, October 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Prodware, developer, integrator and host of business management solutions, improves its rating in the Gaia sustainability Index, and takes the leading position in the service industry, for the class of less than ¤ 150 million turnover companies.
The Gaia Index analysts who benchmark mid-cap companies on the basis of their ethical and responsible management have upgraded Prodware in 2012 to an overall environmental and social rating of 83/100.
This is assigned based on criteria such as governance, human resource management, environmental impact and stakeholder's strategy. With a score of 100/100, on the environmental dimension, Prodware exceeds the other 229 companies in the panel, due to its reduction in energy and paper consumptions, as well as travel, among others. These were achieved by the implementation of Green IT technologies: virtualization of servers, documentation, customers and staff meetings.
For its first participation in this survey in 2011, Prodware had already made a remarkable entry by directly integrating the Top 3 of the tertiary sector, behind TF1 and M6, two French TV channels.
Last July, Prodware published the third edition of its sustainability report, confirming its commitment:
- on the social dimension: the gender wage gap at Prodware is limited to 8%, against 20% at the national level;

- on the environmental dimension: energy consumption (excluding fuel) per employee was cut by 20.5% in a year.

About Gaia Index
Launched in October 2009 by Gaël Faijean and EthiFinance with the support of MiddleNext and the French Society of Financial Analysts, the Gaia Index evaluation system determines the involvement of mid-cap companies listing on the French market on the basis of extra-financial criteria (Environment, Social, and Governance).
The Gaia 2012 Index panel is composed of 230 listed companies across three representative sectors of the French economy: industry, services and distribution. This panel covers ¤141 billion in revenue and nearly 1 million employees. The questionnaire and scoring system are controlled by an independent investors committee, listed companies and analysts.
Following the Gaia Index scoring methodology, the index is made of 70 companies with the highest ratings. The weighted index is calculated every month.
