HIGH GRADE COPPER DISCOVERY AT
TOLLU COPPER PROJECT WESTERN AUSTRALIA
• Visual evidence of sulphide rich copper mineralisation in three RC holes.
• Assay results for the first hole have returned 14m @ 3.5% Cu from 126m.
• Successful interception of significant massive Copper-Cobalt sulphide
mineralisation
Redstone Resources Ltd (ASX:RDS) is pleased to announce that recent reverse
circulation (RC) drilling has intersected a significant interval of high grade copper
mineralisation at its 100% owned Tollu copper project in Western Australia.
During the recent RC drilling programme Redstone drilled 5 angled holes into part of
the central area of a steeply dipping vein system to test at depth, mineralisation
identified from an earlier drilling programme. Only one shallow hole had previously
been drilled into this area to intercept mineralisation within the oxidised zone. That
hole intercepted copper mineralisation of 18m at 0.62% from 21 metres depth in the
oxidised zone (malachite and tenorite).
The recent drilling programme was designed to intercept deeper and primary copper
ore and has been successful in doing so. The first drill hole has intercepted
significant massive copper /cobalt sulphide mineralisation.
As previously reported, geological investigation of three recent drill holes identified
visual evidence of the presence of sulphide rich copper mineralisation (chalcopyrite)
in each hole over significant intervals (approximately 15 m).
Assay results for the first of the RC holes (TLC 12), which intersected visible copper
sulphide (chalcopyrite), has returned 14m @ 3.5% Cu from 126m and 3m @ 0.14%
Co from 130m including 4m @ 6.25% Cu from 127m.
Redstone Chairman, Richard Homsany, said that whilst it was premature to
extrapolate much without further results, early indications are that the discovery is
significant.
“Results from the two remaining drill holes, which intersected visible copper sulphide
(chalcopyrite), are expected to be received in the next week.
The company looks forward to releasing material results as they are received,” said
Mr Homsany.
