Wall Street Braces for Rebound at Opening
By Haitham Haddadin
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Wall Street eyes a higher open on Tuesday as a raft of upbeat corporate results were expected to embolden investors to snatch up issues previously beaten down by worries over shrinking corporate profit growth.
Rising hopes that the U.S. presidential election would be settled soon was also seen helping the market rebound from its recent battering, including Nasdaq's 5 percent slump on Monday.
Investors' worries that a slower U.S. economy could crimp the growth of high-technology companies, on Monday slammed the technology heavy Nasdaq market to its lowest close in more than a year. The Nasdaq index closed below the key 3,000 level for the second time this year.
But investors are beginning to see some light at the end of the tunnel in the elections process in Florida, analysts said.
More than an hour and a half from the open, Nasdaq 100 index futures for December were up 37.50 points, at 2,852, indicating a gain of about 1.3 percent at the open.
S&P 500 futures were up 4.60 at 1,351.60. .......ist nur ein Auszug (kommt von Reuters).
